My taste in music has always been eclectic. I like music from the 60’s to the present. I became a teen in 1983 (12) so think heavy metal & big hair bands. The main bands that graced my bedroom walls were:
I also had 2 huge posters-full body I should say of Jon Bon Jovi above my headboard & on the side of my bed. He was the last thing I saw before I closed my eyes & the first thing that I saw when I woke up. Sigh…Jon Bon Jovi. What a total babe. He still looks good today!
I liked other heavy metal/hard rock bands too like:
Guns N’ Roses
Blue Oyster Cult
There are so many others that I probably forgot but you get the picture. I didn’t get into Megadeth, too much but loved their Peace Sells song. While I enjoyed my music loud, I didn’t like the speed/thrash/death metal bands like Slayer & Anthrax. They weren’t my thing.
On May 27, 1988 I went to Alpine Valley in East Troy, Wisconsin to the Monsters of Rock show. I saw my beloved Eddie of Van Halen without David Lee Roth. Sucks that I didn’t get to see DLR. Sammy Hagar was better solo than with Van Halen.
Scorpions, Dokken, Metallica & Kingdom Come were also playing. All of these bands with the exception of Kingdom Come were my fav bands. It was an awesome show & I will never forget it! Infact, I still I have my concert stub.
Look for another post in the future about my favorite female singers/bands & who I was heavily influenced by.
Below are my current 47 playlists on Spotify. All of the above bands & more can be found on my All Songs 60’s-Now+Spiritual playlist. I have a total of 4,426 songs.
If you feel inclined please add me. Let’s be friends! I made the pictures “large” so viewing is easier on the eyes.
